Production test release 0.5.27 for Apple silicon Mac. Physical iPhone validation is pending. Setup is enabled only for explicitly allowed test accounts.

Before you set up

Toggle automatically creates and verifies a full encrypted recovery backup before applying settings. Enter your existing encryption password or choose and confirm a new one if encryption is off. If the iPhone does not report its encryption setting, choose whether to use your existing backup password or set a new one. Toggle never resets an unknown backup password. Save the password and keep the backup until you explicitly delete it. Keep the cable connected through the limited restore and enrollment checks.

Toggle does not ask for, set or change backup passwords. It copies using your iPhone’s existing backup settings. Unlock your iPhone and enter its passcode or approve Trust if prompted; those prompts stay on the iPhone.

Toggle waits for the iPhone to report that the backup finished, then continues to setup. It does not run full backup-file scans or verify recovery contents. Keep the backup and its password. If an attempt stops, Copy details shows the error. Start again or Reset Installer starts a separate run after confirming permanent deletion of Toggle’s local backups and saved attempts; the old backup is not checked. Separate Finder or Apple Devices backups are kept.

Check your original apps and data after setup. Physical iPhone validation is pending for the test release; data preservation can vary. iCloud Backup is optional.

Follow the app’s Find My instructions. If your iPhone starts a Security Delay, use the app’s wait-and-backup guidance and finish turning Find My off before applying settings.

iPhone not found

Unlock the iPhone and tap Trust. Use a cable that carries data, and try another USB port.

Setup code expired

Setup codes last 15 minutes. Get a new one from your dashboard and paste it into Toggle.

Stuck on Remote Management

Check your iPhone’s Wi-Fi and reconnect it to the original setup computer. Resume the same operation in Toggle; after a restore starts, follow its recovery instructions instead of starting another setup.

A Block hasn't ended

Blocks end over the internet. Connect your iPhone to Wi-Fi or mobile data. Apps return when it reconnects.

Reset the installer

In Toggle on your Mac, open the Toggle menu and choose Reset Installer, then confirm. Wait for any backup, setup, removal or update to finish first. The app returns to the welcome screen and asks you to link your account again.

Reset Installer clears local onboarding and account-link state. After confirmation it permanently deletes Toggle’s local backups and setup checkpoints. It does not remove Toggle from your iPhone or delete devices in your account. Management identities and local error logs stay on this computer. Backups made separately with Finder or Apple Devices are not deleted.

An earlier setup is still on the iPhone

If the installer detects an earlier Toggle setup after its profile was removed, choose Reinstall on the Plug in screen. Use the original setup computer and link the same account. Toggle must verify its saved supervision identity, account ownership and that no configuration profiles or active Block remain before offering Reinstall.

Reinstall creates a new encrypted backup before applying replacement Toggle settings. It does not start an erase. Keep the backup and its password, and check your apps, data and account after setup. Physical validation is pending for the production test release. Cancel before settings are applied leaves the earlier supervision in place; after the restore starts, resume that operation instead of starting again.

Removing a management profile and resetting the installer can leave supervision on the phone. Unlocking it again does not clear that earlier setup. If Reinstall is unavailable, keep your recovery backup and contact support; the installer will explain which verification failed.

Leaving Toggle

Remove your iPhone from your dashboard when no Block is on. Toggle stays on your iPhone until you do.

Use Toggle on the original computer for any remaining local supervision cleanup when no Block is active. Follow its recovery instructions if cleanup or a restore stops. Keep the encrypted recovery backup and its password until you explicitly delete it; a full restore may be needed.

See every step on the setup page.
